In a major breakthrough against terrorism, Punjab Police’s Counter Intelligence wing in Jalandhar has successfully recovered a highly dangerous 86P Hand Grenade following the recent arrest of two operatives of the banned Khalistani outfit Babbar Khalsa International (BKI).
Punjab Police Busts BKI Module
According to officials, the operation began with the arrest of Ritik Naroliya and a juvenile from Rajasthan a few days ago. Their disclosures led to further arrests of their key aides – Vishavjit from Kolkata, who was attempting to flee to Malaysia, and Jackson from Nakodar. Their interrogation revealed critical information, which ultimately resulted in the recovery of the hand grenade.
Recovers Hand Grenade; Masterminds Linked to Canada
Investigations have confirmed that all the accused were acting on the direct instructions of Canada-based BKI masterminds Zeeshan Akhtar and Ajay Gill. Police sources stated that Vishavjit and Jackson had retrieved two hand grenades from Beas in late July through their associates. Shockingly, one of these grenades was used in an explosion at a liquor shop in SBS Nagar around ten days ago by other members of the same terror module.
Punjab Police has registered an FIR at the State Special Operation Cell (SSOC), Amritsar, under relevant provisions of law. Authorities further assured that strong measures are being taken to dismantle such terror networks completely and to prevent cross-border operatives from spreading violence in the state.
Director General of Police (DGP) Punjab reiterated that the state police remains fully committed to ensuring public safety, eliminating organised crime, and neutralising terrorism. The crackdown highlights Punjab Police’s zero-tolerance approach against separatist elements and their handlers operating from foreign soil.
This swift action once again underscores Punjab Police’s determination to maintain peace and stability in the state while sending a strong message to anti-India forces operating from abroad.
