Punjab Police Busts Illegal Arms Smuggling Network, Recovers Sophisticated Weapons

The suspects were reportedly awaiting another operative to receive a consignment of weapons smuggled from Pakistan.

In a significant operation, Punjab Police's Counter Intelligence unit in Amritsar apprehended two individuals involved in an illegal arms smuggling racket near Nurpur Padhri, close to Gharinda in Amritsar. The suspects were reportedly awaiting another operative to receive a consignment of weapons smuggled from Pakistan.

Arms Recovered in Operation


The operation led to the recovery of eight sophisticated weapons, including:

  • 4 Glock pistols (made in Austria)
  • 2 Turkiye 9mm pistols
  • 2 X-Shot Zigana .30 bore pistols
  • 10 live rounds

The FIR has been registered under the Arms Act at the State Special Operations Cell (SSOC), Amritsar.
