In a major intelligence-based operation, the State Special Operation Cell (SSOC) Amritsar successfully dismantled a narco-terror module, apprehending two key operatives linked to a US-based terrorist and smuggler network. The arrested individuals, identified as Bagga Singh, a resident of Sirsa, and Puskaran Singh alias Sagar, from Amritsar Rural, were reportedly working under the directives of US-based terrorist Happy Passia and smuggler Sarwan Bhola.

The duo was involved in a grenade attack on the Gumtala Police Post in Amritsar on January 9, 2025. The SSOC’s swift action led to the recovery of one hand grenade and two sophisticated pistols, preventing potential threats to public safety.
Punjab Police Busts Narco-Terror Module Linked to US-Based Terrorist
Preliminary investigations revealed that Bagga Singh is a relative of Sarwan Bhola, who was arrested in Sirsa, Haryana. Sarwan Bhola is the brother of notorious smuggler Ranjit Singh alias Cheeta, currently incarcerated in Bathinda Jail in connection with a massive 532 kg heroin case.
This operation highlights the deep nexus between narco-terrorism and cross-border smuggling activities. The arrest of these operatives is a significant step toward dismantling organized crime networks that threaten regional security.
Punjab Police reiterated their commitment to combating organized crime and safeguarding the public. "We remain dedicated to dismantling such networks and ensuring public safety," the department stated.
