In a significant achievement, Punjab Police has successfully dismantled a Pakistan-sponsored terror module backed by Babbar Khalsa International (BKI) and Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI-Pakistan). The breakthrough comes with the resolution of two high-profile grenade attack cases targeting Ghanie Ke Bangar Police Station in Batala and Wadala Bangar Police Post in Gurdaspur.
Batala Police, after persistent efforts, arrested four individuals connected to the terror activities. Among the arrested is the mastermind, Abhijot Singh, who operated under the directions of foreign-based handlers Happy Passian and Shamsher, also known as Honey, who are currently residing in Armenia.
Self-Defense Operation During Recovery
During the investigation, two of the accused were taken for recovery operations when they attempted to attack the police team to evade custody. Acting in self-defense, the police responded, and both accused sustained injuries. They were immediately admitted to Batala’s Civil Hospital, where their condition is reported to be stable.
The operation also led to the recovery of critical items, including a 9mm Glock 26 pistol (made in Austria) and six live rounds. These recoveries further establish the international linkages and sophisticated nature of the terror module.
