The Bhagwant Mann government in Punjab has achieved yet another major success in its ongoing ‘war’ against drug traffickers and corruption. The Punjab Vigilance Bureau has filed a 45,000 page chargesheet against former state cabinet minister Bikram Singh Majithia.

During this probe, raids were conducted at 15 locations across different states of the country, which revealed 30 immovable properties, 10 vehicles, and 15 companies or firms linked to Majithia. These were found to be associated with illegal assets acquired during his tenure as a minister. The chargesheet states that Bikram Singh Majithia amassed wealth worth nearly 1200% more than his known sources of income during the investigation period, with an estimated value of ₹700 crore. The entire case has now been presented in court with substantial evidence.

This action is not just against one individual but against an entire political culture where power was misused to build private wealth and strengthen drug networks. The Mann government has demonstrated that from now on, Punjab will be ruled by the law, not by influence. No matter how powerful a person may be, if they have played with the future of Punjab’s youth, the law will not spare them.

The government’s move has received overwhelming public support. From social media discussions to village gatherings, people are calling it a tough but much-needed step in the right direction. Parents are feeling reassured that the big drug lords are finally being cornered by the law. For the youth, the message is clear: the political powers backing drug peddlers will also no longer be immune to justice.

This is not just a legal action but a decisive initiative towards public safety and social accountability. The opposition, which had long dismissed such cases as acts of political vendetta, now finds itself short of facts and flooded with questions from the public. The Vigilance Bureau’s action makes it clear that the era of “mafia-protected politics” in Punjab is coming to an end, and a new era of accountability has begun.

With this decisive action of the Bhagwant Mann government, hopes have grown stronger that in the coming days, the roots of drug mafia, corruption, and political patronage will be uprooted. Punjab is now moving towards a future where governance means service, and the law applies equally to all.
