Punjab Police Intensifies Anti-Drug Drive Under CM Bhagwant Mann’s ‘Yudh Nashian Virudh’ Campaign

Punjab Police has continued its aggressive crackdown on drug trafficking under the state government’s flagship anti-narcotics अभियान ‘Yudh Nashian Virudh’, completing 287 consecutive days of sustained action across the state.

According to official information shared by Punjab Police, raids and search operations were conducted at 178 locations across Punjab on the 287th day of the campaign. During these operations, 27 drug smugglers were arrested, further tightening the noose around organised drug networks.

With the latest arrests, the total number of drug traffickers apprehended over 287 days has reached 40,209, reflecting the scale and consistency of the ongoing drive. Alongside enforcement action, Punjab Police is also carrying out awareness programmes to discourage drug abuse and motivate youth towards a drug-free lifestyle.

The campaign, backed strongly by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, focuses not only on breaking supply chains but also on prevention, rehabilitation and public participation. The state government has repeatedly reiterated its commitment to making Punjab a ‘Nasha Mukt Punjab’, with coordinated efforts involving police, civil administration and community organisations.

Senior officials have stated that the crackdown will continue with the same intensity in the coming days, ensuring strict action against traffickers while strengthening awareness initiatives at the grassroots level to protect future generations from the menace of drugs.
