As part of the ongoing Mission ‘Yudh Nashian Virudh’, the Punjab Police continues to carry out coordinated raids, search operations, and awareness drives across the state. According to the latest update, raids were conducted at 298 locations across Punjab, leading to the arrest of 89 drug smugglers in a single day. With this, the total number of drug traffickers arrested in these 282 days has reached 39,711, highlighting the scale and consistency of the crackdown.

The police are not only targeting traffickers

The police are not only targeting traffickers but also focusing on dismantling supply chains, identifying financial channels, and mapping backward-and-forward linkages of the narcotics trade. Special teams are working closely with district units, intelligence wings, and anti-narcotics squads to ensure that no pocket of Punjab remains untouched by the enforcement efforts.

Community participation remains a key pillar of the mission. Awareness campaigns, school interactions, village outreach programs, and rehabilitation guidance are helping families—especially the youth—understand the severe consequences of substance abuse and motivating them to seek help where needed.

Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has repeatedly emphasized that the fight against drugs is not just a policing initiative but a people’s movement. Under his leadership, the state continues to adopt a zero-tolerance approach towards narcotics, sending a clear message that drug peddling and organized smuggling will not be tolerated.

As Mission Yudh Nashian Virudh enters its next phase, Punjab Police reiterates its commitment to ensuring a safer, healthier, and drug-free Punjab—built with dedication, accountability, and the collective efforts of both the government and its people.
