In a major breakthrough against espionage networks, Punjab Police arrested Gagandeep Singh alias Gagan from Tarn Taran for allegedly leaking sensitive military information to Pakistan's Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) during Operation Sindoor. The arrest was made in a joint operation by Tarn Taran Police and Counter Intelligence–Punjab, following swift and actionable intelligence inputs.

According to DGP Punjab, Gagandeep Singh, a resident of Mohalla Rodupur, Gali Nazar Singh Wali in Tarn Taran, had been in consistent touch with Pakistan-based Khalistani sympathiser Gopal Singh Chawla. Through Chawla, he was introduced to Pakistani Intelligence Operatives (PIOs), with whom he shared confidential information, including Indian Army troop movements and strategic locations.
The suspect Had Been Allegedly Engaged With ISI
The suspect had been allegedly engaging with ISI operatives for the last five years and had received payments via Indian channels. Police have recovered a mobile phone containing sensitive content he transmitted to PIOs, as well as data related to over 20 ISI contacts. Authorities suspect he played a crucial role in passing information that could compromise national security during Operation Sindhoor.
A case under the Official Secrets Act has been registered at Police Station City, Tarn Taran. Forensic and financial investigations are underway to uncover the full extent of the espionage ring and identify further collaborators.
The Punjab Police reaffirmed its commitment to the sovereignty and integrity of the nation, vowing zero tolerance against individuals engaged in anti-national activities.
