On the occasion of the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, the Punjab Police has reiterated its firm commitment to eradicate the drug menace from the state. In a tweet by the Director General of Police (DGP), the force emphasized its ongoing mission #YudhNashianVirudh, calling it not just an enforcement campaign, but a collective movement powered by the people of Punjab.

The police highlighted a multi-pronged approach in their fight—cracking down on traffickers, dismantling drug supply chains, and actively supporting rehabilitation and awareness efforts.

Our Mission Is Not Just Enforcement

"Our mission is not just about enforcement—it’s about building a healthier, safer Punjab. We are deeply encouraged by the growing public support, with more citizens coming forward to report drug-related activity and spreading awareness," the police noted in their statement.

The campaign is aimed at mobilizing both law enforcement and the community at large

The campaign is aimed at mobilizing both law enforcement and the community at large. Officials stressed that the fight against drugs requires constant vigilance, coordination across departments, and most importantly, active public participation.

In recent months, Punjab Police has intensified its efforts under the statewide anti-drug drive, making significant arrests, seizing large quantities of narcotics, and launching awareness programs in schools, colleges, and local communities.

Over the past year, Punjab Police has conducted hundreds of targeted operations, leading to the seizure of large quantities of narcotics, the arrest of high-profile traffickers, and the uncovering of cross-border drug smuggling rackets. The department is also working closely with central agencies and neighboring states to curb interstate and international drug syndicates.
