As Sri Anandpur Sahib readies itself to welcome millions to the historic 350th martyrdom anniversary of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji, the Punjab Police have enhanced their security and arrangements to facilitate a safe and smooth gathering for the lakhs of devotees.
During the experience, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann attended the occasion to review all the preparations and stressed the need for peace and discipline, as well as complete cooperation for hosting visitors from far and wide around the nation and the world.
Huge Beefed-Up Security
Punjab Police deployed thousands of personnel across the town, and senior police officers are on hand to supervise damage control for on-ground arrangements. The aim is to avoid congestion, facilitate movement, and secure all the gathering areas.
Tech-Savvy Monitoring System
In a bid to reinforce the monitoring team, a control room is being set up with AI-enabled CCTV cameras, facial-recognition teams, drones, and ANPR cameras set up at all access points servicing major obstacles. These cameras assist in monitoring, crowd density, facilitate handling movement and are deployed in intervention in case of an incident when necessary.
Intelligent Traffic and Crowd Control
The city has been divided into a number of security zones – each with its own help desk, monitoring staff, and traffic control staff. Attendees will be escorted to and from parking using shuttle services, reserved parking areas, and maps with defined routes developed for attendees. Barricading, periodic traffic reports, and checkpoints for visitor flow will also be in place.
Devotee Support
Punjab Police staff is planning assistance booths, medical support, and emergency response teams. The aim is not just security and safety, but also an efficient and pleasant experience for everyone.
