Punjab News: In a landmark step for women’s empowerment, the Punjab Police Community Policing Division has launched the Saanjh Rahat Project, a comprehensive initiative aimed at providing psycho-social and legal support to victims of domestic violence. This initiative, in collaboration with the Nai Shuruwat Foundation, is backed by the Health Department, the Department of Social Security and Women & Child Development (SSWCD), and the State Legal Services Authority (SLSA) Punjab.
The Saanjh Rahat Initiative seeks to empower women by providing them with the tools and support necessary to make informed decisions and lead violence-free lives. This project highlights the commitment of CM Bhagwant Mann’s government to creating a safer and more supportive environment for women across the state.
Dedicated Counselors and Pilot Launch
As part of the project, two dedicated women counselors will be available to assist victims, offering crucial guidance and support. These counselors will provide holistic aid, addressing the psychological, social, and legal challenges faced by victims of domestic violence.
The pilot phase of the Saanjh Rahat Project will commence at the Civil Hospital in SAS Nagar. Once successfully implemented, the project will be expanded across Punjab, ensuring that women in all parts of the state have access to these critical services.
Building a Safer Future
This initiative reflects the state’s unwavering commitment to women’s safety and empowerment. By providing essential resources to help victims navigate difficult situations, Punjab is taking bold steps toward fostering a society where women can thrive without fear of violence.
