Punjab: In a major boost to Punjab’s industrial growth and employment generation, Punjab Cabinet Minister Sanjeev Arora announced that Happy Forgings Ltd, a leading manufacturer of auto and engineering parts, will invest a massive ₹1,000 crore in Ludhiana. This significant move comes under the dynamic leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, as Punjab strengthens its position as a preferred destination for industry and jobs.
Major Expansion in Auto & Engineering Sector
Happy Forgings Ltd’s investment will focus on expanding forging and machining operations that manufacture high-precision components for both domestic and export markets. The company caters to a wide range of sectors including commercial vehicles, passenger vehicles, farm equipment, off-highway, and industrial machinery.
The Managing Director of Happy Forgings Ltd, Ashish Garg, confirmed that the investment will be made in a phased manner to enhance the company’s manufacturing capabilities in Punjab. Despite offers from other states, the company chose Punjab, highlighting the state’s improving industrial ecosystem and business-friendly policies under CM Bhagwant Mann’s leadership.
Employment Generation Impact
This ₹1,000 crore investment is projected to create over 2,000 direct job opportunities, providing a significant boost to the state’s employment landscape. Among the new positions, more than 300 will be for engineers, offering attractive career prospects for the youth of Punjab.
