Punjab Traffic Wing Recieves "FICCI National Road Safety" Awards

The campaign launched under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann to make Punjab's roads safer and better, on Tuesday brought laurels to the state by honoring the Traffic Wing of Punjab Police with the prestigious 'FICCI National Road Safety Award 2022' in the category of Road Safety Interventions.

Director General of Police (DGP) Punjab Gaurav Yadav congratulated ADGP Traffic Amardeep Singh Rai and the entire team of the Traffic Wing for their commitment and hard work, which has contributed significantly to the success of the mission of the Traffic Wing.

The award was presented by Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) during the 'Role of Corporates in Road Safety and FICCI Road Safety Awards 2023' conference at FICCI Auditorium, Federation House, New Delhi on Tuesday.

Navdeep Asija, Traffic Advisor Punjab and Director Punjab Road Safety and Traffic Research Center (PRSSTRC) and PRSSTRC scientist Simranjeet Singh jointly on behalf of the traffic wing of Punjab Police.

ADGP AS Roy said that this award is dedicated to each and every person of the traffic wing who is putting in all his might to ensure the safety of the people of the state on the roads of Punjab. He said that this prestigious award is in recognition of his stellar efforts in road safety initiatives and his dedication towards making roads safer for the citizens.
He said that the Traffic Wing Punjab has shown utmost dedication and expertise in managing the traffic and ensuring the safety of the commuters. He said that in 2022, the Punjab Police has worked with camaraderie and dedication by being at the forefront to save lives on the roads.

It is worth mentioning that the Punjab Road Safety and Traffic Research Center (PRSTRC) has played a key role in harnessing big data for data-driven decision making, informed choice making and effective implementation of road safety measures.
