Punjab’s Health Revolution: 5 Crore OPD Visits & Rs10 Lakh Cashless Care Mark 4 Years of Bhagwant Mann Govt, Check Details

Punjab's 4-year healthcare report card under Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann shows that things are getting better, like 5 crore OPD visits at Aam Aadmi Clinics and the start of the Mukh Mantri Sehat Yojna, which gives families ₹10 lakh in cashless treatment. The state has become a national leader in accessible and inclusive healthcare by building more infrastructure, getting more money, and covering a lot of people.

Bhagwant Mann: Under Bhagwant Mann’s leadership, Punjab has become a leader in changing public healthcare for the better. The Aam Aadmi Party government showed off a model that focused on making care accessible, affordable, and high-quality for everyone by giving a full 4-year report card.

Mukh Mantri Sehat Yojna: Health Care for Everyone

The Mukh Mantri Sehat Yojna is a major feature that gives each family up to ₹10 lakh in free medical care each year. This ambitious plan goes beyond Ayushman Bharat by removing eligibility barriers and doubling the coverage limit. The plan covers 2,356 medical procedures, including important ones like cardiology and oncology. It has about 900 hospitals in Punjab and Chandigarh that are part of it. So far, almost 25 lakh families have signed up, and more than 1.6 lakh beneficiaries have already been treated.

Aam Aadmi Clinics: Changing the Way We Get Primary Care

The success of Aam Aadmi Clinics is a key part of this change. These centres offer free medicines, tests, and consultations, and there are now 883 of them open, and more are being added. They have treated 1.69 crore patients and had over 5 crore OPD visits. With a 94% satisfaction rate, they are the gold standard for primary healthcare in India.

Improving the workforce and infrastructure

Bhagwant Mann: The government has also focused on building long-term capacity, not just schemes. A record number of doctors hired, an extra ₹2,000 crore spent on healthcare in 2026–27, and better emergency response systems all show a commitment to long-term growth in the sector.
