On the fifth day of his Japan tour, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, accompanied by Cabinet Minister Sanjeev Arora, positioned Punjab as a globally connected, investment-ready destination during the Progressive Punjab Investors Summit in Osaka. The event witnessed participation from leading Japanese industrial groups exploring opportunities in India’s fast-growing markets.

Bhagwant Mann Government Promises “Red Carpet, Not Red Tape”

CM Mann reiterated that Punjab is committed to eliminating bureaucratic hurdles and ensuring a transparent, speedy, and supportive investment environment. He emphasized that the state’s single-window system, simplified approvals, and industry-friendly laws make Punjab one of the most efficient regions in the country for setting up new ventures.

Focus on Manufacturing, Technology & Green Mobility

During the summit, the Punjab delegation showcased sector-specific opportunities in EV manufacturing, robotics, electronics, food processing, pharma, and clean energy technologies. CM Mann highlighted that Punjab is rapidly emerging as a hub for advanced manufacturing, supported by world-class industrial parks, skilled manpower, and strong export networks.

Officials also stressed Punjab’s commitment to green mobility, renewable energy, and sustainable development—areas where Japan holds global leadership. This alignment, they said, creates immense potential for long-term Indo-Japanese industrial partnerships.

Japanese Investors Show Serious Interest

According to officials present at the summit, several Japanese companies expressed deep interest in collaborating with Punjab, especially in high-tech and research-driven sectors. Many companies appreciated Punjab’s focus on innovation, human resource development, and global connectivity, calling it a “future-ready” destination for investment.

Strengthening Global Ties

CM Mann’s visit is part of a larger push by the state government to position Punjab on the global investment map. In recent years, the Mann government has focused heavily on attracting FDI, building international partnerships, and ensuring that industrial expansion translates into job creation for the youth.

The Osaka summit marks another significant milestone in Punjab’s effort to build a strong, competitive, and globally integrated economy, laying the foundation for new opportunities in the years ahead.
