Skill Development Push in Punjab: CM Bhagwant Mann Lays Foundation for Centre of Excellence in Nangal

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann laid the foundation stone of the Captain Amol Kalia Centre of Excellence at ITI Nangal, marking a significant step towards strengthening skill development infrastructure in the state. Alongside this, multiple development projects were also inaugurated, reflecting the government’s focus on youth empowerment and modern education.

Skill Development Push in Punjab: CM Bhagwant Mann

The Centre of Excellence, being constructed at a cost of ₹23 crore, is envisioned as a state-of-the-art training hub for young aspirants. It will offer advanced courses in emerging and high-demand fields such as Robotics, Electric Vehicle (EV) Technology, 3D Printing, Drone Technology, Air Hostess training, and Civil Aviation. The facility is expected to train more than 500 students, equipping them with industry-relevant skills and improving their employability in a competitive job market.

Focus on Infrastructure and Innovation

In addition to the skill centre, the Chief Minister also announced the development of a glass bridge project worth ₹10 crore, aimed at boosting local tourism and infrastructure. Further, education projects valued at ₹18 crore were also launched, indicating a comprehensive push toward improving educational facilities in the region.

Highlighting the government’s vision, Mann reiterated that empowering youth with modern skills and creating employment opportunities remains a top priority. The initiative aligns with Punjab’s broader goal of preparing its workforce for future industries and ensuring sustainable economic growth.

The projects collectively underline the state government’s commitment to fostering innovation, enhancing technical education, and creating avenues for youth to become self-reliant and job-ready.
