Taking a Tough Stand, Bhagwant Mann Leads Anti-Drug Drive, 98 Smugglers Get Arrested Across Punjab

Under the leadership of Bhagwant Mann, Punjab Police arrested 98 drug smugglers and seized heroin, poppy husk, and intoxicants in a major anti-drug drive.

Punjab’s anti-drug drive under Bhagwant Mann led to the arrest of 98 smugglers, with a major seizure of narcotics. The initiative also focused on rehabilitation, guiding 44 individuals toward de-addiction.

Tough Action Against Drug Traffickers

Strict and incessant actions against the crime related to the illicit trade of drugs are seen as Punjab’s anti-drug drive gets intensified by the state government. In a huge crackdown, Punjab Police has arrested 98 drug smugglers in various parts of the state to send out a strong message against the crime of drug trafficking.

Large Scale Seizure of Illicit Substance

As per the latest development, Punjab Police has seized a huge quantity of narcotic drugs which include 1.1kg of heroin, 67kg of poppy husk, and 514 intoxicant tablets/capsules from the drug smugglers. Furthermore, ₹7,430 worth of drug money is also found to be seized during this operation.

Government’s Zero Tolerance Policy

Under the leadership of Bhagwant Mann, the Punjab government has adopted a zero-tolerance approach towards drugs. This action is part of a larger strategy to dismantle drug supply chains and ensure a safer environment for citizens.

Focus on Rehabilitation Alongside Crackdown

While strict action is being taken against smugglers, the government is also focusing on helping those affected by addiction. As part of this drive, 44 individuals were persuaded to undergo de-addiction and rehabilitation treatment, showing a balanced approach between enforcement and recovery.
