The budget portrays the voice of the common man: Malvinder Kang

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has hit out at opposition leaders for misleading them about the debt and financial situation of Punjab. Accusing the Congress and the SAD-BJP of pushing the state to the brink of bankruptcy during their rule, the party said the Punjab government led by Bhagwant Mann is now bringing the state’s economy back on track.

Malvinder Singh Kang addressing a press conference at the party headquarters on Monday, Chief Spokesperson Malvinder Singh Kang said that the Punjab government’s budget is a reflection of the voice of the common man, while the budgets of previous governments only benefited the rich and their corporate friends.

Kang said that the government has repaid the loan of 36046 crores.
He said that the Hon’ble Government has repaid the loan of Rs.36046 crore, which includes principal of Rs.15946 crore and interest payment of Rs.20100 crore. Along with this, a huge amount has also been spent to give the benefits of the welfare scheme to the people of Punjab.

AAP government is spending on public welfare

Apart from this, the Mann government has deposited Rs 3000 crore in the Consolidated Fund in the last one year, while only Rs 2900 crore was deposited in this fund by the Congress government in five years. This shows that AAP government is spending money only on the upliftment of the state and welfare of the people.

Congress had left government departments in a shambles

Kang said government departments, including the PRTC, were left in shambles due to the absence of grants during the previous regime. Rs 885 crore to Punjab Cooperative Agricultural Development Bank, Rs 300 crore to provide relief to various government agencies including Rs 2000 crore assistance.

Rs 400 crore was given to PANSP, Rs 400 crore to Sugarfed, Rs 135 crore to District Cooperative Banks, Rs 36 crore to Milkfed and Rs 10 crore to Fazilka Sugar Mill. Government-run transport is also in profit.

The previous government did not pay

Kang said that AAP is the party of farmers and common people. Along with this, the government has also taken full care of the interests of the employees. Apart from paying the installment of 6 percent dearness allowance to the employees, the Punjab government has also cleared arrears of Rs 1150 crore which are pending with the Pay Commission since 2016. He asserted that if previous governments had made the payments on time, the burden would not have increased so much.

More than 500 Aam Aadmi clinics established

Highlighting the money spent on the welfare of common people in the last one year, Kang said that the state government has so far set up more than 500 Aam Aadmi Clinics. Apart from this, 600 units of electricity are being provided free of cost, due to which 90 percent of the households in Punjab are getting zero electricity bills.

117 School of Eminence will be established, will get employment

Similarly, setting up of 117 Schools of Eminence and giving more than 26,000 government jobs within a year does not only require money, but also requires good intentions for development, which only you have.

AAP government’s excise revenue increased by 45 percent

The AAP spokesperson said that there has been a 45 per cent increase in excise revenue, but the previous governments caused crores of losses to the state exchequer by awarding contracts to private firms. He said that instead of appreciating the efforts of the government, the opposition is opposing the policy for its own selfishness.
