‘This Is Public Trust’: Anurag Dhanda After AAP’s Massive Win in Punjab Local Elections

Dhanda said the massive support clearly shows how strongly people are backing AAP’s governance model in the state.

Senior Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Anurag Dhanda has expressed gratitude to the people of Punjab after the party registered a resounding victory in the Block Samiti and Zila Parishad elections, widely seen as a political semi-final ahead of the next Assembly polls.

Reacting to the election results, Anurag Dhanda reposted a message shared by AAP National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal, calling the mandate a reflection of public trust in the work of the Bhagwant Mann-led Punjab government. Dhanda said the massive support clearly shows how strongly people are backing AAP’s governance model in the state.

“Victory of Public Trust,” Says Anurag Dhanda

Sharing Arvind Kejriwal’s post on X (formerly Twitter), Dhanda echoed the sentiment that the election outcome proves the popularity of AAP’s pro-people policies. Kejriwal wrote that AAP’s sweeping win in the Zila Parishad and Panchayat Samiti elections demonstrates how much the people of Punjab appreciate the government’s work and reforms.

“This is a victory of public faith,” Dhanda said, adding that the people have endorsed AAP’s focus on development, welfare schemes, rural infrastructure and transparent governance.

AAP Dominates Local Body Polls

As counting continues, early results show a clear dominance of the ruling AAP across Punjab. According to available data, AAP has won 206 out of 346 Zila Parishad zones declared so far. In the Panchayat Samiti elections, results for 2,300 out of 2,838 seats have been announced, with AAP securing 977 seats, while counting is still underway for the remaining seats.

Political observers say the results underline growing public confidence in the AAP government’s work, especially at the grassroots level.

Strong Message Ahead of Assembly Elections

The landslide victory in these local body elections is being viewed as a strong signal ahead of future electoral battles in Punjab. With leaders like Anurag Dhanda, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and Arvind Kejriwal celebrating the mandate, AAP appears firmly positioned as the dominant political force in the state.
