Punjab Police: In a significant breakthrough for law enforcement in Punjab, acting on a specific tip-off, the Fazilka Police, under the supervision of the Punjab Police Department, successfully busted a cross-border weapon smuggling module linked to Pakistan.
According to a tweet by DGP Punjab, two persons have been arrested in connection with the smuggling operation. These individuals were reportedly backed by foreign-based handlers and were engaged in transporting illegal arms into India.
During the operation, the police recovered:
- 18 Pistols
- 1847 Cartridges
- 42 Magazines
The authorities have initiated further investigations to trace both forward and backward linkages of the smuggling network. The primary focus is to identify all members involved and unravel the entire organized crime structure operating across the border.
