Punjab Health Minister Dr. Balbir Singh, under the governance vision of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, carried out a series of surprise inspections at Civil Hospitals in Rupnagar, Fatehgarh Sahib, and Bassi Pathana to review the state of public healthcare services.
Inspection Under CM Bhagwant Mann’s Governance
During the visit, the minister conducted detailed checks of emergency units, OPDs, diagnostic labs, medicine stocks, sanitation, and patient amenities. He directed hospital authorities to ensure that all medical facilities remain fully functional and that patients receive timely, dignified, and efficient treatment.

Dr. Balbir Singh instructed medical staff to maintain strict hygiene standards, address manpower gaps, improve equipment maintenance, and strengthen patient grievance systems. He emphasized that the AAP government, led by CM Bhagwant Mann, is committed to revamping state-run hospitals and making high-quality healthcare accessible to every citizen.
Along with hospital inspections, the minister also made unannounced visits to de-addiction centres in Fatehgarh Sahib and Rupnagar, where he interacted with youths undergoing rehabilitation. He encouraged them to stay motivated in their recovery journey and assured enhanced government support through improved facilities and community outreach.
The minister reiterated that the Mann government’s goal is to build a healthier, drug-free Punjab, and such inspections will continue to ensure accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement across the healthcare system.
