Bhagwant Mann: Punjab Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema has said the next instalment of the Satkar Raashi under the Mukh Mantri Mawan Dheeyan Satkar Yojana will reach beneficiaries soon, highlighting the scheme’s financial support for women across the state.
In a social media post, Cheema said the initiative represents respect for mothers and sisters and claimed that around 80 lakh families are receiving its benefits. He also said Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann is standing with women beneficiaries through the scheme.
Bhagwant Mann: Punjab Women’s Monthly Assistance Scheme
The Mukh Mantri Mawan Dheeyan Satkar Yojana provides monthly financial assistance to eligible women in Punjab. Under the scheme, women from the general category receive ₹1,000 per month, while eligible women belonging to Scheduled Caste communities receive ₹1,500 per month.
The scheme was formally launched in July 2026, when the Punjab government transferred three months’ assistance to beneficiaries. The initial payment amounted to ₹3,000 for general-category beneficiaries and ₹4,500 for eligible Scheduled Caste women.
Over 76 Lakh Women Registered
The scheme has expanded its beneficiary base since its launch. On August 27, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann said 76.11 lakh women had registered, while ₹2,381 crore had been transferred to the accounts of 68.06 lakh beneficiaries.
Earlier, on August 28, Mann said the government was working to bring one crore women under the scheme. Officials said the total number of beneficiaries had reached 70.92 lakh after another three-month payment was transferred to 5.30 lakh women.
