Passengers travelling between Varanasi and Jalandhar may soon get the convenience of a Vande Bharat Sleeper train, as the Railways is preparing to introduce the service. The proposed train is expected to operate all seven days of the week, offering a faster and more comfortable overnight travel option.

According to reports, the train is likely to run via Hazrat Nizamuddin railway station in Delhi, keeping in view the heavy traffic on existing routes. The proposed alignment is expected to provide direct connectivity to passengers travelling between eastern Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Punjab and onward destinations in Jammu.
Railway Ministry has not yet announced the official launch date
The introduction of the sleeper version of the Vande Bharat train is expected to significantly reduce travel time while offering modern onboard amenities, including comfortable sleeper coaches, improved passenger facilities and enhanced safety features for long-distance journeys.
Although the Railway Ministry has not yet announced the official launch date or the final route, preparations are reportedly underway. Railway authorities have directed the concerned departments to complete the necessary operational and infrastructure arrangements ahead of the service’s introduction.
As part of the preparations, Divisional Commissioner S. Rajalingam and Varanasi Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) Ashish Jain recently inspected Varanasi railway station along with senior officials. The team reviewed passenger amenities, station infrastructure and operational readiness to ensure smooth functioning once the train is introduced.
The proposed Vande Bharat Sleeper service is expected to benefit thousands of passengers by improving rail connectivity between Uttar Pradesh, Delhi and Punjab while providing a modern, efficient and comfortable travel experience for long-distance commuters.
