A major railway infrastructure project has been proposed in Rajasthan, with plans to develop Bhatton Ki Gali Railway Station in Jaipur into a large-scale rail hub and coaching terminal at an estimated cost of over ₹1,000 crore.
Major Boost for North Rajasthan Connectivity
Located in the Jahota region of Jaipur district, the station is being considered for transformation into a Mega Coaching Terminal by the Jaipur Division of North Western Railway. A detailed project proposal has reportedly been prepared and submitted to railway authorities for approval.

If approved, the project is expected to significantly enhance rail connectivity in North Jaipur and surrounding regions while easing operational pressure on existing railway infrastructure. Officials believe the development could also create new employment opportunities and stimulate economic activity in the area.

Under the proposed plan, the station would feature around 10 platforms along with modern passenger facilities and advanced railway infrastructure. The terminal is expected to handle increased train operations and support future expansion of rail services in the region.

Railway authorities are planning to develop the station in line with green building standards, with solar energy-based systems expected to play a key role in meeting energy requirements.
Passenger amenities such as modern waiting halls, digital information displays, improved sanitation facilities, and enhanced security arrangements are also proposed as part of the redevelopment plan. The objective is to create a future-ready railway station capable of providing a comfortable and efficient travel experience.
Officials say the proposed rail hub could emerge as an important transportation center for northern Rajasthan, improving connectivity, supporting regional development, and strengthening Jaipur’s position as a key railway destination in the state.
The project is currently at the proposal stage, and further progress will depend on approvals from the Railway Ministry and other concerned authorities.
