Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during his visit to Rajasthan’s Deshnoke, paid his respects at the revered Karni Mata Temple and subsequently inspected the Deshnoke Railway Station, a key pilgrim stopover inspired by the architectural style of the temple itself.
Deshnoke Station: A Blend of Devotion and Design
The Deshnoke station, revamped with a focus on local heritage, features structures themed on arches and columns reminiscent of the Karni Mata Temple. Serving thousands of devotees and tourists each year, the station's new design aims to enhance spiritual tourism in the region.
Nationwide Inauguration of Amrit Stations
During the visit, PM Modi also virtually inaugurated 103 redeveloped Amrit Stations spread across 86 districts in 18 states and union territories, developed under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme at a combined cost of over ₹1,100 crore.
These upgraded stations aim to offer modern facilities such as improved waiting areas, better ticketing systems, and enhanced cleanliness, while also reflecting regional architectural themes that preserve India’s cultural essence.
Transforming Indian Railways: Over 1,300 Stations on the List
The government has set an ambitious target of redeveloping over 1,300 stations across the country to make travel smoother, more comfortable, and culturally immersive. Each station is being designed with state-specific motifs and materials, connecting passengers not just with destinations, but also with the rich legacy of Indian regions.
A Modern Touch to Pilgrimage Travel
With Deshnoke as a model, the scheme is not just about infrastructure but about celebrating local identity. For pilgrims visiting sacred sites like Karni Mata Temple, upgraded stations offer both convenience and cultural immersion, promoting religious tourism while boosting regional pride.
