Rajasthan News: In a shocking case of insurance fraud, a man in Rajasthan’s Banswara district allegedly murdered a beggar to fake his own death and claim insurance money. The accused, identified as Narendra Singh Rawat, who was heavily in debt, orchestrated the chilling plot to escape his financial woes.
Body Found with Planted Documents
On December 1, police discovered a mutilated body near Jherbadi village, accompanied by a bag containing identification documents belonging to Narendra Singh. While the documents initially led police to believe the body was his, his family’s denial during identification raised suspicions, prompting a deeper investigation.
Victim Lured and Murdered
Police uncovered a conspiracy involving Narendra Singh, an accomplice named Bhairulal, and a truck driver, Ibrahim. On November 30, the trio lured a homeless scavenger, Tufan Singh, from Kota with promises of a job in Gujarat. After intoxicating him with alcohol, they placed him on the highway, where Ibrahim ran him over with a truck, killing him instantly. Narendra then planted his identification documents near the corpse to stage his death.
Fraudulent Insurance Scheme
The elaborate plan aimed to deceive the insurance company into paying out a death claim to Narendra Singh. However, the discovery of the conspiracy has exposed the sinister intentions behind the crime.
Arrests Made, Prime Accused Absconding
Police have arrested Bhairulal and Ibrahim on charges of murder and conspiracy. Meanwhile, Narendra Singh remains at large, and a manhunt has been launched to apprehend him. Authorities are also investigating other aspects of the case to ensure all accomplices are held accountable.
This incident highlights the lengths to which individuals might go to escape debt, posing serious questions about the abuse of insurance systems.
