On the special invitation of Congress President Sonia Gandhi, the party’s MP Rahul Gandhi will come to Delhi on 23 September. Earlier, Sonia Gandhi had called Congress General Secretary Venugopal. Venugopal is on India Jodo Yatra with Rahul Gandhi and he too had left her and came to Delhi. Sonia discussed with him the latest situation of the party. Sent a message from Venugopal and Rahul will be in Delhi on Friday. On Thursday 22 September, Ashok Gehlot will join the Bharat Jodo Yatra.

He will discuss with Rahul and persuade him for the post of President. As per the party’s election process, the nomination for the post of president will start from September 24. The suspense on all these names is likely to be removed only after 30 September.

The names of three contenders for the post of president are coming out in the party. The first name is of Rahul Gandhi. He had resigned from the post of Speaker after the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. Since then party leaders have been persuading him to return to the post. Now Ashok Gehlot will also try. On September 23, Congress President Sonia Gandhi will also inform him that more than 10 State Congress Committees have passed and sent a resolution to make Rahul the President of the party. Rahul is free to take his decision keeping in mind the constitution of the party and the request of the workers. Rahul has to decide.

Senior Congress leaders including Ramesh Chenniwala, SV Ramani, all the leaders say that if they ask the question of becoming the president, they avoid laughing. However, with one of his tweets, Rahul has raised the hopes of all the leaders that when the boat is in the middle, the rudder has to be taken in hand.

After Rahul Gandhi, the most powerful contender for this post is Ashok Gehlot. Ashok Gehlot is working hard to make Rahul Gandhi the first president. This hard work of Gehlot is going on since 2019. Gehlot is not the only leader to do this, but almost the entire Congress is trying this. Ashok Gehlot will file nomination for the new president post after the process starts on 24th September if Rahul Gandhi does not agree. Ashok Gehlot is not able to get away from Jaipur and the chief minister’s post.

The third name is of Shashi Tharoor. Senior Congress leader. On Wednesday, September 21, he met the party’s leader and chairman of the Central Election Authority, Madhusudan Mistry, who is in charge of the election process. Learned about the latest conditions for the election of the new president. Shashi Tharoor is keen to file nomination in case no one from the Gandhi family contests the election.
