Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot took a jibe at a comment made by former Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje, reiterating the allegation that his ambitious projects were shelved when the BJP government came to power in the state. Gehlot said, "We don't stop their schemes, but they (Raje) stop our (government's) schemes. This is the difference between milk and lemon."
Gehlot made this quip while talking to reporters at Jasrasar near Bikaner. In fact, on a question regarding the possibility of the formation of the Congress government again in the state, Gehlot said, "This time we have to bring the government (again), in public interest." Public interest will be there only when the schemes of this government continue.
He said, "If the cost of Rs 40,000 crore (Barmer) refinery becomes Rs 70,000 crore due to five years of negligence, then what can be a bigger loss than this."
The Chief Minister further said, “We do not stop any scheme of the BJP governments. Eastern Rajasthan Canal Project (ERCP) was the plan of Vasundhara (Raje) ji. We are taking it forward. This is the difference between Vasundhara ji and us. This is the difference between lemon and milk. The only difference between lemon and milk is that we have kept (their) scheme ERCP running and they have stopped our scheme, that is the difference.
A few days ago, Raje had said in Suratgarh without naming anyone, "Many people have been conspiring to tell only one lie that they have met, they are in collusion.
Raje said, “How is it possible to have collusion with those from whom principles are not met, from whom ideology is not met, from whom unlimited language has been heard every day. Can milk and lemon juice ever mix together.''
