Ex-DSP and 29 others get life terms for burning cop alive

It is often said that a raging mob has no face. That’s why miscreants burn vehicles, vandalize government properties fearlessly, even killing policemen along with the common man, the miscreants do not desist.

The killings of many policemen who were victims of the raging mob are still a question on the attitude of the system and the people towards the law. These high-profile and heart-wrenching cases include the murder of CI Phool Mohammad of Rajasthan along with Inspector Subodh Singh of UP, DSP Zia-ul-Haq and SP Mukul Dwivedi.

Because after a long court trial, the SC-ST Special Court on Friday finally sent 30 convicts behind bars for life imprisonment who burnt alive the policeman who had come to protect them. Justice Pallavi Sharma also imposed a fine on the accused in the murder case. The fine of about Rs 40 lakh to be recovered will be given to Phool Mohammad’s family.

The most shocking name among these culprits is that of the then DSP Mahendra Singh. In fact, Mahendra was present there when Phool Mohammad was burnt by the mob in the official vehicle, but he did not even try to save the CI.

Judge Sharma on Wednesday held 30 accused, including the then DSP Mahendra Singh, guilty out of a total of 89 accused. At the same time, 49 people were acquitted due to lack of evidence against them. While pronouncing the sentence today, the court has also imposed a fine of 1 lakh 67 thousand on Mahendra Singh. At the same time, another accused Banwari has been fined Rs 1 lakh 87 thousand. Advocate Sridas Singh told that apart from this, each other convict will have to deposit Rs 1 lakh 65 thousand as fine. The victim’s family will get the amount of the fine.

On March 17, 2011, people were protesting in Surwal village under Mantown police station area of ​​Sawai Madhopur demanding arrest of the killers of elderly Dakha Devi and compensation to her family members.

During this, Rajesh Meena and Banwari Lal Meena climbed on the water tank carrying bottles filled with petrol and threatened suicide. Banwari was persuaded by the people to get down from the tank, but Rajesh Meena sprinkled petrol on himself and set himself on fire and jumped down from the tank.

The mob pelted stones at the policemen

Angry people started pelting stones at Mantown police station officer Phool Mohammad and police personnel posted in Surwal village. Pouring petrol on Phool Mohammad’s jeep and set it on fire. Due to which he died. After the incident, the Rajasthan government had given martyr status to CI Phool Mohammad.

The then Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot had announced a CBI inquiry into the CI murder case. The CBI named 89 people as accused in the case, of whom 3 are still absconding. Five have died. There were 2 child abusers.

DSP Mahendra Singh, Radheshyam s/o Brajmohan Mali, Parmanand s/o Ramnivas, Bablu s/o Ramnarayan, Prithviraj, Ramcharan, Chiranjilal, Sher Singh, Harji, Ramesh Meena s/o Prahlad, Kalu s/o Korea, Bajranga Khatik, Murari Meena, Chaturbhuj Meena, Banwari s/o Jagannath, Ramkaran son of Hazari, Hansraj alias HansaSon Ramkumar, Shankar Mali s/o Kanhaiya, Banwari Lal Meena, Dharmendra Meena s/o Suresh Kumar Meena, Yogendra Nath, Brijesh Hanuman s/o Kanhaiya, Ramjilal Makhan Singh, Rambharosi Meena, Mohan Mali, Mukesh Mali and Shyamlal have been sentenced.
