The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has given notice to the Rajasthan government on Thursday. The notice is related to the alleged sale of girls in the age group of 8-18 years on stamp paper in several districts of Rajasthan. On her refusal to settle disputes on the orders of the caste panchayats in the state regarding the rape of her mother. The commission has asked the government to respond to the notice within four weeks. In this, Rajasthan will have to tell what action has been taken in this case.
NHRC takes cognizance of media report
According to the National Human Rights Commission, it has taken suo motu cognizance of a media report in this regard.
On behalf of NHRC it was said that in this media report it was told that due to non-payment of loans, girls are being bought and sold in about 6 dozen districts of Rajasthan. They are being sent out. Not only this, they are also being made victims of physical abuse, harassment and sexual harassment.
According to the information, such a case came to the fore when there is a dispute between two parties regarding the transaction of money and loan. In this case, girls in the age group of 8-18 years are auctioned to recover money. These girls were accused of allegedly being sold on stamps. Taking cognizance of the media report regarding this, the Human Rights Commission sent a notice to the Ashok Gehlot government and asked what action was taken in the whole matter?
NHRC has issued a notice to the Chief Secretary of Rajasthan and the Chief of Police (DGP) of the state. In this, it was said about the media report that if this report is true then it is a violation of human rights. Action should be taken against those involved in such cases. Regarding this, the commission has issued a notice asking the government what action has been taken in this. The commission has also raised questions on the working style of village panchayats in Rajasthan.
Earlier, BJP MP Ranjita Koli's statement in Bharatpur has also come on this issue. He said that sisters and daughters are being sold like sheep and goats on stamp paper in Bhilwara. He said that this is a very serious matter, on which Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot should resign. The BJP MP said that the slogan of Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi was - 'I am a girl, I can fight', but now such a shocking case has come to the fore in Rajasthan. In which Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot should resign.
