The Rajasthan government has decided to bear the travel expenses of all the citizens of Rajasthan who reached Delhi on Wednesday from trouble-torn Sudan.

The government will also make arrangements for food and lodging for the people of the state returning from Sudan.

Dheeraj Srivastava, commissioner of Rajasthan Foundation, said that Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has taken steps for the safe return of the people of Rajasthan from Sudan.

Srivastava said, “The state government has now decided that it will ensure that all those who have returned from Sudan reach their homes in Rajasthan from Delhi free of cost. For this, whether they are traveling by air or any other means."

Chief Resident Commissioner, Bikaner House, New Delhi, Shubhra Singh urged all the people of the state to provide updated details about the people affected by the conflict in Sudan.

According to the statement, around 500 Indians, including 60 from Rajasthan, have been taken from Khartoum to Port Sudan by different means.
