Chiranjeevi Health Insurance Scheme is applicable in Rajasthan. Under this, health insurance up to Rs 10 lakh is provided to the beneficiary family. Apart from this, the government bears the cost of organ transplant.
According to the reports, to get the benefit of this scheme, 50 percent insurance premium that is Rs 850 has to be deposited annually. At the same time, the Rajasthan government bears the premium of small and marginal farmers and contract workers.
'Chiranjeevi Health Insurance Scheme should be implemented in the whole country'
Now Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot said on Thursday that his government's Chiranjeevi Health Insurance Scheme should be implemented across the country. Along with this, he demanded the central government to enact a social security law and restore the old pension scheme (OPS) for government employees.
Addressing the concluding session of the All India Presiding Officer Conference in the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly, the Chief Minister said, 'I have also requested the Prime Minister and am saying again that our Chiranjeevi Swasthya Bima Yojana implemented to provide health insurance to the people in Rajasthan implemented across the countryshould go.'
Emphasizing the need for social security of needy people, Gehlot said that the Center should enact a social security law. Gehlot said, 'Social security should be mandatory, as it is the responsibility of the government to take care of the needy families.'
'Social security being given to one crore people in the state'
He said that social security is being given to one crore people including the elderly and widows in Rajasthan. Gehlot also said that his government has restored the old pension scheme for state employees from a humanitarian point of view. He said that this step is also being criticized, but this decision has been taken after thinking.
