Rajasthan News: In a proactive move to enhance women's safety and address instances of distress, the Rajasthan Police has initiated the Women Helpline 1090 service. This dedicated helpline aims to provide immediate assistance to women facing emergencies or in need of support, reinforcing the commitment of Rajasthan Police towards women's security.
Women Helpline 1090 service
The Women Helpline 1090 service, launched by the Rajasthan Police Headquarters under the guidance of Police IG Harish Meena, operates round the clock, seven days a week. It is designed to offer legal, social, and moral assistance to women, including those working in government and private sectors, who encounter any form of physical or mental abuse.
When a distressed woman dials 1090, the call is swiftly redirected to the nearest police station for immediate intervention. The helpline ensures that help is rendered within a mere 10 minutes of reporting the issue. Each police station has set up a dedicated Women Help Desk manned by trained female officers and personnel.
The initiative is part of the state government's commitment to combat crimes against women and provide them with a sense of security. Rajasthan Police is gradually expanding the Women Help Desk initiative across all police stations in the state, ensuring comprehensive coverage and support for women in distress.
Additionally, the Ajmer district has introduced Helpline 181, another resource aimed at assisting women and schoolgirls facing domestic violence, harassment, or any form of exploitation. Coordinated by the Women's Rights Committee, this helpline offers women a platform to register complaints and seek assistance promptly.
