Rajasthan News: The Rajasthan state government under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma has announced that all government hospitals in the state would be performing round-the-clock medical surgeries with immediate effect. This decision has been taken by the state government to reduce the long patient waiting lists.

Rajasthan News-Incentives For Surgeons
The state government would be offering incentives to surgeons who perform medical operations beyond their regular working hours, according to Naresh Goyal, Commissioner of the Medical Education Department. The incentive schemes would cover anaesthetists, surgeon and other assisting staff. The payments for these incentives would be drawn from the funds available via the Ayushman Bharat–Mukhyamantri Ayushman Arogya Yojana.
Moreover, 12 modular operation theatres would be constructed in state’s six major hospitals. The theatres would be built in SMS Hospital Jaipur, JLN Hospital Ajmer, PBM Hospital Bikaner, MBS Hospital Kota, Mathuradas Mathur Hospital Jodhpur and Maharana Bhupal Hospital Udaipur.
The state government also announced that strict action would be taken against any government doctor who is found to carry out surgeries after duty hours in private hospitals, according to RMCTA President Dr Dheeraj Jaif.

The Rajasthan state government would be implementing an “After Hours Surgery” Policy that would be important to cut down on waiting lists for medical operations in the state’s government hospitals.
Government hospitals in the state boast of state-of-the-art infrastructure and qualified teams of surgeons and doctors. However, many procedures tend to get delayed because of heavy patient footfall and limited time.
