Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma made five major announcements to benefit the state police force during a state-level event held at the Rajasthan Police Academy (RPA) in Jaipur, commemorating the 76th Foundation Day of Rajasthan Police. These reforms aim to strengthen law enforcement, improve working conditions for police personnel, and modernize the state’s policing infrastructure.

Uniform and Mess Allowances Increased, Free Bus Travel Extended

CM Sharma announced an increase in uniform allowance from ₹7,000 to ₹8,000 and a hike in mess allowance from ₹2,400 to ₹2,700. In addition, police personnel will now be eligible for free travel not only on state-run Roadways Express buses but also on Semi-Deluxe buses across Rajasthan.

₹200 Crore Police Modernization Fund to be Set Up

To strengthen the state's policing infrastructure, the Chief Minister declared the formation of a ₹200 crore Police Modernization and Infrastructure Fund. This fund will be utilized to upgrade existing police facilities, equip personnel with modern tools, and improve overall operational efficiency.

10,000 New Police Posts Approved, More to Come

To enhance law and order, the government has approved the recruitment of 10,000 police personnel. Of these, 5,500 new posts have already been created, and an additional 3,500 posts are proposed for creation this year. Further, approval has been granted for the creation of 1,000 constable posts under the first phase of forming 500 Kalka Patrol Teams.

New Women Battalions and Support Roles Sanctioned

CM Sharma announced the administrative and financial approval for the establishment of three women police battalions: Padminee, Kalibai, and Amrita Devi. Along with this, 250 Langri (support staff) posts have been created. The honorarium for existing Langris in the police and jail departments has also been increased by 10 percent.

Enhanced Mobility and Cyber Infrastructure for Police

The Rajasthan Police will receive a significant boost in mobility and technical resources. The government has sanctioned ₹60 crore for this purpose. As part of the plan, the department will get 750 motorcycles, 500 light vehicles, and ₹27 crore worth of modern policing equipment. CM Sharma also announced the creation of new posts for the establishment of the Rajasthan Police Technical Training Academy, aimed at enhancing police telecom training. In addition, a Sardar Patel Centre for Cyber Control Room will be established under the police headquarters at a cost of ₹350 crore.

These announcements signal a comprehensive overhaul of Rajasthan’s policing strategy, reflecting the government’s commitment to a more effective, well-equipped, and welfare-oriented police force.
