The Rajasthan State Road Transport Corporation (RSRTC) has taken a leap in enhancing passenger comfort by introducing a bus hostess service in its super deluxe buses, giving commuters an experience akin to air travel. Beginning June 1, the pilot project has been launched on selected routes between Jaipur-Delhi and Jaipur-Jodhpur, covering five buses for an initial two-month trial period.
Onboard Catering with a Touch of Class
RSRTC Chairperson Shubhra Singh shared that, following the model of airlines, onboard catering services have been introduced in deluxe buses. Hostesses serve clean food and beverages to passengers using specially designed trolleys. This initiative aims to provide a premium feel to road travel and boost passenger satisfaction.
Pilot Project with Passenger-Centric Vision
The pilot project is currently limited to five buses across two major routes, but if the experiment proves successful, the facility will be expanded to other deluxe buses as well. The initiative is also expected to increase non-ticketing revenue for RSRTC, making it a win-win for both passengers and the corporation.
Passenger Feedback System Introduced
To ensure continuous improvement, a feedback register has been placed in each of the selected buses. Much like airline complaint books, these registers will help capture passenger experiences, suggestions, or grievances. The feedback will be reviewed daily by the RSRTC administration to assess the impact and effectiveness of the service.
Positive Response from Commuters
Initial reports suggest a positive response from passengers who have welcomed the new facility. The presence of onboard hostesses and better food services have not only improved travel comfort but also enhanced the overall brand image of Rajasthan Roadways.
Passengers, especially families and senior citizens, have appreciated the personalized assistance and hygienic service offered by the hostesses. The initiative is also being seen as a step toward modernizing public transport and attracting more travelers to opt for roadways over private transport.
