In Rajasthan, now the names, photos or videos of the accused or suspects caught in corruption cases will not be made public until they are found guilty in the trial. Director General of Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) Hemant Priyadarshi issued an order in this regard on Wednesday. It has been said that in such action only it will be told in which department the action was taken and on which post the accused officer or employee is posted. Regarding this order, the state's opposition BJP has attacked the Ashok Gehlot government, saying that this is proof that the government is supporting corruption.

Hemant Priyadarshi was given the additional charge of the post of Director General of Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB). BL Soni, posted on this post, retired on 31 December.

Immediately after getting the new charge, Priyadarshi issued this order on Wednesday.

'The identity of the accused should not be revealed until the crime is proved'

According to this order, the name or photo of the accused/suspect will not be made public in the media or any other person in the department until the case/accused is convicted by the court after the 'trap action' done by the ACB team. The name of the department in which the accused is working and the designation of the accused will be given to the media only.

In this new order, it has also been said that the trapping officer will be fully responsible for the safety and protection of human rights of the suspected accused in the custody of ACB.

BJP targeted

The main opposition Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has targeted the Gehlot government regarding this order of the ACB Director General. Sharing a copy of this order, BJP state president Satish Poonia tweeted, "Congress corruption, corruption Congress."

On the other hand, Deputy Leader of Opposition Rajendra Rathore tweeted, 'Congress's hand - with corruptionIn order to give protection to the corrupt in Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot ji's so-called 'Model State Rajasthan', freedom of the press is being violated by taking out a Tughlaqi decree not to reveal his photo and name in the media.

On the other hand, Director General of ACB Priyadarshi defended his order saying that there is a legal basis behind this order. He said that 'according to the guidelines of the Supreme Court, the name and photo of the accused cannot be made public until proven guilty'.
