Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot on Friday announced 19 new districts in the state. With this, the total number of districts in the state has increased to 50. The BJP has attacked the announcement of new districts in the state.

Bharatiya Janata Party leader and former Chief Minister of the state Vasundhara Raje has termed it as personal and political interest. She said that the Chief Minister has put the economic system of Rajasthan at stake.

Rajasthan became of 50 districts

Chief Minister Gehlot said in a tweet on Friday, ‘Rajasthan has now become of 50 districts. He said that due to the increasing population and large area, the government and the general public were feeling the need for new districts. Taking a big step, the Congress government has created 19 new districts today. The pace of progress will now double. Gehlot said that on the demand of the people, he had constituted a high level committee. After the report of the committee came, he announced new districts.’

Public will have to bear the brunt

The BJP termed the announcement of new districts in the state as personal and political interest. BJP leader and former Chief Minister of the state Vasundhara Raje targeted CM Gehlot. He said that the new announcements of the Congress government are just an attempt to fulfill their personal political interests. In this effort, he has put the entire economic system of Rajasthan at stake, the consequences of which will have to be borne by the people of the state and the state in the years to come.

Attempt to politicize

Vasundhara Raje further said that many important facts have been ignored in the process of creating new districts, due to which people will have to face administrative complications instead of the ease that comes with the creation of new districts. He said that the Chief Minister has tried to politicize the budget keeping in mind the worrying fiscal indicators of the state, which is unfortunate.
