Ranchi News

Ranchi News: A minor girl was allegedly sexually assaulted by a police officer in Ranchi, the capital of Jharkhand, for more than a year before the teen was able to tell her mother about the trauma and bring attention to the situation. This is a horrifying example of power abuse.

The victim’s mother has reportedly claimed that Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Neeraj Khosla sexually assaulted the young girl for more than a year. On November 10, the girl complained of a stomach ache and, after being prodded by her mother, told her about the horrific experience. This is how the case was discovered.

An FIR was filed against ASI Khosla under the strict Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO) Act and other pertinent sections of the law on November 14, according to an official, after the victim’s mother went to the police station and lodged a complaint against the accused officer.

The accused got arrested:

According to the police, ASI Khosla, who was assigned to the Shukdev Nagar Police Station, was arrest on November 16.

But according to the victim’s mother, who lodged the policeman’s report, Khosla’s family was intimidating her family and threatening to harm them if they did not withdraw their complaint against the ASI.

She said that the accused officer’s mother, wife, and two brothers-in-law was assaulted by her husband. The distressed mother filed a police protection request for her family, claiming that the accused’s relatives were continuously threatening them and that she was concerned for their safety.

More about the case:

Higher officials are taking into consideration the mother’s plea for protection, according to an official, who also stated that the police are looking into the threat allegations made by the victim’s family against the accused’s relatives.
The officer continued, “More investigation in the case is underway.”
