Ranchi News: Ranchi is all set to bid farewell to its long-standing traffic congestion as the state government has approved the construction of four new flyovers within the city limits. With detailed blueprints already prepared, the ambitious infrastructure upgrade aims to streamline urban mobility and ease daily commutes for thousands of residents.

Four New Flyovers to Untangle Ranchi’s Traffic Woes: Government Gives Green Signal

The flyovers will be strategically constructed at four key traffic hotspots—locations that often witness bumper-to-bumper congestion during peak hours. Once completed, the new overpasses are expected to significantly reduce travel time, decongest intersections, and enhance the overall transport network of the Jharkhand capital.

The government aims to begin construction soon

Officials say that preparations for land acquisition, structural planning, and traffic diversion strategies are already in full swing. The government aims to begin construction soon, ensuring minimal disruption while keeping long-term urban development in focus.

This initiative is part of a broader plan to modernize Ranchi’s road infrastructure, aligning with the city's growing population and rapid vehicular expansion.

According to officials, detailed project reports (DPRs) for each flyover are ready and include design, cost estimation, land acquisition mapping, and environmental impact assessments. The project will be rolled out in phases, with a target completion timeline of 24 to 30 months, depending on each site’s complexity.

Pedestrian walkways and dedicated lanes for two-wheelers

In addition to easing congestion, the flyovers are expected to enhance road safety by eliminating dangerous intersections and reducing accident risks. Pedestrian walkways and dedicated lanes for two-wheelers and emergency vehicles may also be incorporated to ensure inclusive and future-ready infrastructure.

The government is also considering implementing smart traffic management systems and synchronized signals under the flyovers to further optimize vehicular flow. This marks a significant step in Ranchi’s transformation into a more livable and commuter-friendly city.
