Ratan Tata Receives Threatening Call, Mumbai Police on High Vigilance

Following a caller's threat to harm Tata Sons honorary chairman Ratan Tata, Mumbai Police are on high alert.

Ratan Tata: A caller threatened to “increase the security of Ratan Tata otherwise his condition will also be like Cyrus Mistry” in reference to the honorary chairman of Tata Sons, Ratan Tata. The call was received by Mumbai Police. Mumbai Police is on full alert following this call. One of its teams was given the task of handling their security by the police. The other team was instructed to get details about the caller at the same time.

Caller’s Evasive Actions and Tracking by Mumbai Police

According to sources, the caller turned off his phone when someone tried to reach him again. The police then used the telecom company’s help and technical support to track down the caller. The caller’s location was determined to be in Karnataka, and upon obtaining his address, it became apparent that he was a Pune resident. According to additional sources, the caller had not been seen or heard from for the previous five days, and his wife had also reported him missing to the police station.

Caller’s Mental Health and Background Details

It was also discovered during questioning that the caller had schizophrenia and had taken the phone from home without telling anyone. He threatened to kill Ratan Tata when he called the Mumbai Police control number from the same phone. Legal action against the caller was reportedly avoided due to his mental illness, according to an officer. In addition to studying engineering, he completed an MBA in finance. This call was placed by the same person two days ago.
