Fuel Price Hike: Fuel prices in Delhi have risen again, with petrol climbing to Rs 98.64 per litre from Rs 97.77 and diesel increasing to Rs 91.58 from Rs 90.67. The latest increase, about 87 paise for petrol and 91 paise for diesel, marks the second hike within a week.

What changed within this week
This comes after an earlier sharp revision on Friday, when petrol in Delhi moved up from Rs 94.77 to Rs 97.77 and diesel from Rs 87.67 to Rs 90.67. That earlier hike was driven by rising global crude prices and concerns over supply disruption linked to West Asia tensions.
Higher fuel prices affect more than just private car users. Daily commuting, app-based cab fares, delivery charges and goods transport can all become costlier when petrol and diesel rates rise. Businesses that rely on vehicle movement may pass on some of the added expense to customers, in logistics, food delivery and local transport.
CNG also under pressure
Delhi’s fuel inflation is not limited to petrol and diesel. CNG prices in the capital were also revised upward earlier, adding more strain for households and fleet operators that depend on gas-powered vehicles. For many commuters, that means fewer cheap travel options at a time when transport costs are already under pressure.
What to watch next
Fuel Price Hike: The key question is whether global crude prices stabilise or keep pushing retail fuel rates higher. If international oil markets remain volatile, more revisions could follow, and households in Delhi may need to budget for higher commuting and delivery costs in the weeks ahead.
