Previous Attempt on Life of Agarwal
A previous attempt on Agarwal’s life was made on June 14 when he survived a fall by holding on to bushes, officials said. Goyal is accused of diverting suspicion by pretending to spot a snake nearby at the time, investigators say.
Polygraph Tests & Finding Evidence
Police have recovered clothes allegedly worn by Goyal on the day of the incident and are waiting for court permission to conduct polygraph tests on both accused. Both Goyal and Chaudhary are due to be produced in the Vadgaon court where the police will ask for an extension of their custody, and the defence is expected to seek judicial custody.
Claims of Motive for the Murder
Agarwal and Goyal were allegedly engaged, and their wedding was scheduled to be held in November this year. Investigation has revealed that Chaudhary was seen as an impediment to the couple’s relationship, which formed the alleged motive behind the killing.
