Special Trains for Shravan Devotees: Indian Railways Boosts Connectivity to Baidyanath Dham

In a significant move to facilitate smooth travel during the holy month of Shravan, the Indian Railways has announced a series of special trains aimed at pilgrims visiting the revered Baba Baidyanath Dham in Deoghar, Jharkhand. The announcement, made on July 25 by the Ministry of Railways, highlights the addition of several Shravani Mela Special trains to handle the massive influx of devotees during the month-long religious observance.

Sharing the update, the Ministry tweeted, “श्रावण मास की आस्था को मिली रफ्तार! Shravani Mela Special trains ensure every devotee reaches the doors of Lord Shiva.”

The initiative falls in line with the annual pilgrimage tradition, where lakhs of devotees undertake long journeys to offer sacred Ganga water at the Jyotirlinga shrine of Baidyanath Dham.

Key Special Train Services Announced

From Madhupur and Deoghar region:

Train No. 03267 – Madhupur to Gaya Special

Train No. 05715 – Madhupur to Patna Special

Train No. 09645 – Deoghar to Katni Special

Train No. 03511 – Bhagalpur to Ranchi Special

Train No. 03653 – Asansol to Patna Special

For northern and eastern routes:

Train No. 05546 – Deoghar to Raxaul Special

Train No. 05027 – Deoghar to Badhni Special

Train No. 05925 – Deoghar to Dibrugarh Special

From Jasidih and adjoining regions:

Train Nos. 03148 / 03146 – Jasidih to Dumka Special (Daily)

Train No. 03150 – Jasidih to Godda and back

Train No. 03507 – Deoghar to Jasidih round-trip

Train No. 03480 – Jamalpur to Sultanganj and return

Train No. 03503 – Jasidih to Talgachh and return

Special shuttle service – Jasidih to Baidyanath Dham and back

These trains are expected to significantly reduce congestion during peak pilgrimage dates and offer a reliable option for devotees traveling from nearby towns and states.

Railways Ensure Improved Pilgrim Management

According to officials, stations like Deoghar, Jasidih, Sultanganj, and Patna will be equipped with extra amenities including medical booths, water supply, additional staff for crowd control, and help desks to guide travelers. These measures aim to ensure a safe and comfortable experience for pilgrims.
