Tamil Nadu: After Chief Minister MK Stalin requested that the Speaker only record the speech prepared by the state administration and strike the parts the Governor added to the traditional address, Tamil Nadu Governor RN Ravi today left the assembly. The Assembly approved a motion to only record the governor’s original, by the state government-prepared speech.

Governor omitted passages from the speech
The Chief Minister moved the resolution after the Governor omitted passages from the speech prepared by the state government that discussed secularism and figures like Periyar, BR Ambedkar, K. Kamaraj, CN Annadurai, and Karunanidhi.
MK Stalin said that the Governor’s actions were “against the constitution” in the resolution.
