Uttar Pradesh News: The Uttar Pradesh Relief Commissioner said in a statement at 9 p.m. on Saturday that ten persons had died in rain-related accidents in the previous 24 hours, as showers continued to batter the state. “In the past 24 hours, while two (people) died due to drowning in Rampur, seven were killed due to lightning (strikes) in Ballia, Mahoba and Lalitpur districts. One person died of snakebite in Sultanpur,” the statement said.

Ganga River Crosses Danger Threshold

The Ganga is flowing in Budaun over the danger threshold, according to the Irrigation Department. The river at Bulandshahr and Farrukhabad is getting close to the danger point. In Parayagraj, the Yamuna is also running dangerously. An official reported that after passing the danger mark, the Yamuna’s water level in Mathura has continued to climb.

Crops Ruined, Communities Submerged in Uttar Pradesh’s Mant District

Acres of crops have been devastated, and there are numerous communities in the district’s Mant area that are submerged in water. According to him, homes and roadways in low-lying parts of Mathura and Vrindavan have inundated. The district government is acting to save lives and lessen the harm. The state received 1.02 cm of “normal” rainfall in the 24 hours that ended at 8 p.m., according to the Met office. 32 of the state’s 75 districts experienced ‘excess’ rainfall. More rain is expected over the state during the next 48 hours, according to the weather office.
