Tragic Bus Crash in Maharashtra's Raigad District Leaves 13 Dead, Over 25 Injured

Maharashtra: In the early hours of Saturday, a bus crashed into a ditch in Maharashtra 's Raigad district, killing at least 13 people and injuring more than 25, according to authorities. The collision happened at 4:30 am on the Pune-Raigad boundary while the bus was making its way from Pimple Gurav in Pune to Goregaon. 41 passengers were on board the bus when it was involved in an accident.

Rescue efforts are in progress

Rescue efforts are currently in progress. "The bus crashed into a ditch in the Khopoli neighbourhood of Raigad, killing seven persons and injuring more than twenty-five others. Rescue efforts are in progress," according to Raigad SP Somnath Gharge. Amit Shah, the union home minister, described the disaster as "unfortunate" and noted that the local government is conducting relief efforts.

Police and emergency personnel were on the scene

"The traffic accident in Maharashtra's Raigad is sad. I discussed this with both Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Chief Minister Eknath Shinde. The local government is working on relief efforts." Amit Shah wrote, "I send my sympathies to the families of the deceased and hope those injured a swift recovery," he added. Soon after learning of the collision, police and emergency personnel were on the scene. Near the scene of the accident, police cars and ambulances could be seen parked on the side of the road.
