Union Minister Shobha Karandlaje joined thousands of pilgrims on the sacred Amarnath Yatra 2025, offering prayers at the holy cave and praising the spiritual and developmental transformation in the region.

Speaking to reporters during her visit, the minister expressed a deep sense of devotion and joy, saying, “Today, we are all going to have the darshan of Bholenath. It feels wonderful… May God bless us all.”

Karandlaje also lauded the improved atmosphere and infrastructure at the Baltal base camp, noting that the environment was peaceful and well-organised. “The atmosphere here is very pleasant. People are feeling good because development work is happening here too,” she said, referring to the upgraded roads, better amenities, and enhanced security arrangements in the area.

Development and Devotion Go Hand in Hand

The minister’s visit comes as part of the government’s broader efforts to ensure a safe and comfortable pilgrimage for lakhs of devotees who undertake the annual trek to the Amarnath cave shrine in the Himalayas.

This year, the administration has introduced several enhancements including:

Widened and stabilised trekking paths

Improved healthcare and emergency services

Deployment of additional security personnel

Smart monitoring systems along key stretches of the yatra route

Pilgrims from across the country have welcomed the smoother arrangements and praised the administration for managing large crowds efficiently.

The Amarnath Yatra 2025, which began last week, is expected to see record participation. The annual pilgrimage holds deep religious significance for Hindus, as devotees trek through challenging mountainous terrain to offer prayers at the naturally formed ice Shivling inside the holy cave.
