Expressing concern over the soaring unrest in the state, the Muslim Body had written a letter to the Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Uttarakhand Chief Minister to look into the matter. In the letter written to the Home Minister, the Muslim body has urged to safeguard the lives of innocent citizens living in the state. The Muslim body has also requested to terminate the MahaPanchayat which is schedule to take place on June 15, as it might result in hampering the peace in the state. On the other hand, the authorities have refused to give a nod for the June 15 MahaPanchayat.

'Area witnessed clashes, unrest in the Past'
Meanwhile there had been some incidents of violence reported in the month of June could be one of the reasons for the unease in the area. The incident happened in the early June when some Muslim men tried to held hostage a Hindu girl, but the attempt was unsuccessful as the villagers intervened and save the girl. The alleged goons were then taken into custody but the area is still facing unrest and tension.
‘MahaPanchayat will lead to more tension in the State'
There have been lots of protests post the incident and the Muslin shops have been asked to shut down. Considering the situation the Muslim Body has urged to cancel the MahaPanchayat as it may lead to more clashes in the state.
