Uttarakhand News: Major landslide in Rudraprayag, many feared trapped

Uttarakhand News: In yet another tragic incident, a landslide took place in Rudraprayag district of Uttarakhand. This time around, at least 13 people are feared to be buried under the debris and washed away due to landslides. The accident happened on Thursday late at night. Due to the continuous falling of boulders from the hill, the rescue team is facing trouble in carrying out operations. Many teams including Rudraprayag Police, SDRF, and DDRF are engaged in the rescue. However, any information related to the missing people is yet to recovered.

The operation to find missing people

According to an official, the Rudraprayag Disaster Management, three shops are reported to have been damaged due to the landslides after heavy torrential rains near the Gaurikund post bridge last night. “The operation is going on to find the missing people,” SD Rudraprayag, Dr Visakha, said.

“We got information that three shops were affected because of falling rocks and heavy rainfall…The search operation was started immediately. It was said that around 10-12 people were there but till now they have not been located,” Disaster Management Officer Dalip Singh Rajwar told ANI.

List of Missing People

Amar Bohra, his wife Anita Bohra, their daughters Radhika Bohra and Pinki Bohra, and their sons Prithvi Bohra (7), Jatil (6), and Vakil (3) have been named as the missing along with Vinod (26), Mulayam (25), Ashu (23), Priyanshu Chamola (18), Ranbir Singh (28), and Amar Bohra.
